Hey guys, I’m back! And just in time for the nerd-alert leg! Maths was my favourite subject at school 😀 I really enjoyed this episode as it was full of mental challenges; something that lacks in TAR US. The only problem is when there’s teams like Sarah and Sam, who haven’t really been able to show off their physical skills as much… I’m still waiting for a track and field task 😛 We travelled to an ABBA-inspired city (not really, but hello Waterloo), it was the final leg an Express Pass could be used and we see the funnest, and easiest, Speed Bump in TAR history!
Team #1 – Dave & Irina
DETOUR: Robot Quest
FACE OFF: Won against Anthony & James

This team are like leeches, sucking the life out of us viewers 😛 Dave and Irina, no matter how much you hate them, are absolutely killing it this season. Sure, they took a couple penalties and get hella lazy on Irina’s behalf. But it’s also the polarising beauty of watching them. I’ve definitely not been team evilbots, but you have to give them major kudos. Their third #1 and I can’t believe I’m saying it, but it really was Irina’s best leg! The woman said it herself, there was nothing physical or requiring (what she considers) “hard work”. She smashed the robot and maths tasks; who would’ve thunk it?! Although I wouldn’t exactly class Dave as the ‘brains’ either. Lol. I’m unofficially putting them in my Final 3, because I just don’t want them there :O
Team #2 – Anthony & James

FACE OFF: Lost to Dave & Irina; Won against Aarthy & Thinesh
PLACINGS: 6th, 6th, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 1st, 2nd (Avg 3.7)
OK, OK I give in. These guys are in my Final 3. But only just! They’ve been absolutely killing it since Leg 5. Late bloomers in the Race, Anthony and James have been dominating ever since Goats on the Roof happened! Haha. This week’s tasks really suited the highly intelligent husbands and they relished every moment! From nerdy robot boys to working out the distance of the ball drop, which by the way you could totally guess as it was a 2 storey-drop. But it’s way more fun solving equations 😛 Happy anniversary Anthony and James, and for giving us the quote of the episode!!
Team #3 – Aarthy & Thinesh

Dear Aarthy, Newton discovered (not invented) gravity. Hahaha. It’s OK coz I still love ya! The Sri Lankan couple (Thinesh hurry up and put a ring on it) had their ups and down this legs, but we only take in the positives right?! Thinesh definitely should have been calling the Robot Detour, not sure why they sent Aarthy down because she ended up being a human stressball. But as I’ve said previously, Thinesh stays cool, calm and collected and got her through it, and he couldn’t even see the damn robot! They also decided NOT to use the Express Pass, which was interesting as it would have secured them the #1. But they are here to PLAY and there was no way Thinesh wasn’t going to do a Math challenge haha. Super proud of this team!! They’re in my Final 3 🙂
Team #4 – Sarah & Sam

Lucky number four. The Olympians are hanging in there! I still think they can creep up from behind and win this thing. They had a few hiccups this leg *cough SAM* starting with trying to steal the pen off Trish! :O You can’t do that on Amazing Race Canada 😛 Then failing to find a red or yellow ball; even Lauren passed him. And lastly, and I’m a bit shook, Sam failed at using a stop watch. As a runner, Sam probably has someone else keeping times, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. BUT ALAS, enter my sporting queen Sarah!! Because I like her so much I’ll forgive her for having a full board of equations just to find D. Haha. Let’s go for a stronger leg next week guys, no false starts! 😉
Team #5 – Lauren & Joanne

My Regina girls are rocking the back of the pack with their sass and good vibes! I’ll pretend Lauren didn’t break down infront of her mathematical genius sister, coz she’s equally as awesome. It was soo cute seeing Jo comfort her sis and she remained calm and persisted with the task, knowing they could have been the last to leave! I’M LIKE A PROUD MAMA. The girls also know their cheese limits on a pizza 😉 Not gonna lie, I’m worried for the sisters. Next week will most likely be a non-elimination leg so they should be safe, but I have a bad feeling they get knocked out next :O How dare me, I know!
Team #6 – Trish & Amy

How awesome did Trish and Amy do on the Race?! And I’m gonna say it, but Trish is one hot mama! What an amazing transformation <3 The mums probably never thought they’d make it to the Top 6 of the competition. They did struggle to stay with the front of the pack for majority of the Race, but it never dampened their spirits (except when Dave stole Trish’s answers, GIRL hide your work)! Always big smiles from these ladies 🙂 Surviving two non-elimination legs and having to complete fun Speed Bumps (who doesn’t want a driverless car?) is a lucky thing! They said some totally MOM things and I loved when Amy said she hadn’t done algebra since 1984. Hahaha. I wasn’t even born yet O_O Unfortunate they lost the Face Off making pizzas… #toomuchcheese!! There is such a thing!
