What a great week of Australian Survivor, guys! OK, so another two idols were played and Cara was saved yet again, but you can’t deny how fun it’s been to watch! I love a hot mess and this cast is providing the goods. I am pretty devo that Gerald was voted out, he seems like a wonderful man </3 But this Jury is shaping up to be a great one. And thank the Lord we don’t need to see Emmett’s lycra shorts ever again! This week it’s only me with my Sliding 7, as Annabel takes a week off on Survivor Sick Leave. SLIDING SEVEN
HAYLEY
We bow down to you, Queen Hayley of the Fire Tribe. Holy hell, how HAS Hayley bounced back and become in control of votes?! She went from being unanimously voted out, to being the swing between the Emmett v George vote. Hayley wasn’t even a target this week; you have to give her major props for her ability to redeem herself, regain trust and decrease her threat in the game. Not many players have been able to do this. Oh and she won her first individual immunity to boot! If the others aren’t careful, Hayley is going to wipe them all out with her impressive “resume”. She’s not who you want to sit next to at the end. Although, I would FROTH at a George/Hayley F2. That’d probably be the best outcome for us viewers in terms of strategic beasts at the end. Manifesting this now. Go Hayley!!
GEORGE
I have a love/hate relationship with George and it’s mostly love. This guy brings sooo much entertainment, Survivor strategy and wit to the show it wouldn’t be the same without him. Sure, we see George a million times during weekly promos, and another million during the episodes, but it’s all worth it. He lay in animal shit as a spy bunker. This is content we crave! George has been the craftiest of players, able to be the pivot between Brain and Brawn alliances, ensuring whoever goes home benefits him and Cara, but surviving tribal every time (thanks to not-so-well-hidden idols and advantages!!). I’m not even mad if producers are helping him out, haha. George is clever, and not just with game play but how he words things to people. Like a true policitian he explains things in a way that just confuses the shit out of you so you just agree to make him shut up. Before you know it you’ve elected him as PM and regret the next 10 years. Expect George to make F4.
WAI
Is Wai a bigger mastermind than we all think? Laura seems to think so. And Emmett called her his biggest inspiration out there, so why haven’t we seen more of Wai? This season has been full of BIG characters and Wai is one of the quieter crew. If you don’t watch out, she’s going to sneak to the end and take your F2 spot! It was great to see Wai speak more this week, especially working with Hayley. Who knew our little, Quokka-loving Wai would make it this far? The way she fought on in that grueling Biggest Loser-ish hill challenge was inspiring. The edit could all be a rouse and I’m ignoring all the casual comments about her being a goat, but I’ll just sit here manifesting that Wai really is a silent assassin!!
DANI
Dani has grown on me since the tribe swap and you can see she is trying so hard to execute moves, but there’s always some one/thing (George/Hayley/secret idols) standing in her way. She just can’t quite get there. I do appreciate Dani trying though. She always looks so clueless at tribal, haha. She wasn’t wrong in trying to oust Emmett, but was the only one to vote for him and Gerald went home instead. She then thought OK COOL COOL I’ll vote with majority to get Cara out, but Laura went instead. Finally in the last tribal council, Dani should’ve just stuck with her queer alliance with Flick as she was left completely out of the loop again being the only person voting for Cara! Dani cannot catch a break! And on top of that she won the car challenge – thanks Isuzu D-Max – so things aren’t looking great unless she can, once and for all, break the damn Car Curse. Dani, we have faith in you! You can do this. Stick with Flick and you’ll be alright, baby <3
LAURA
Umm, if anyone watched Jury Villa you’d know Laura walked out of the Outback looking like the model she is. Her hair looked flawless! Laura had 20 votes against her leading up to her final tribal and it only took 1 to send her home that night. She walked away from the game in an epic blindside and looked fabulous to boot. What’s not to love?! It’s such a shame we never really got to see Laura’s fun, humorous personality on the show. Check out all the Jury Villa videos on 10Play for all of your Laura needs! (This spot probably should have gone to Andrew, but he scares the shit outta me. And also seems like a Bitter Betty, so nope.)
FLICK
Group hug for Flick!! She is a f*cking rockstar. Continuing the game after the news of her mum’s passing is huge. HUGE! How many people would do that? Like she said, her mum would’ve wanted her to keep playing. The others better be afraid, if Flick makes it to the end she may win. She already has her mates Gerald and Emmett there, and I think Laura was also sweet on her too. We don’t know yet whether this Jury will be all gameplay or mateship, but there’s always some element of sympathy in final votes. That aside, Flick has done well to avoid being seen as a physical threat as she’s strong in challenges. She only has 2 votes against her so far and a very commendable social game. She’s lost Gerald and Emmett, but has forged a great friendship with Dani, and also has ties with Hayley (still praying they get to work together). She just needs to sit next to the right person at the end and CHA-CHING!
CARA
One of two players left who were fake voted out and still in the game. AH-MA-ZING. Has Cara been the luckiest player so far? She was meant to be 6th boot, but will potentially (thanks to George, Macedonian Jesus and secret/hidden idols) finish in the Final 6. What a ride! Cara probably can see how she’s playing with a bunch of basics. Remember when Cara asked “who’s the split vote?”? I laughed back then. But superfans be serious, what’s with the basic votes?! Maybe the others (minus George) should have figured that out. Cara has such good Survivor Karma and I secretly want her to win this whole damn thing. Ssh.
