The Bachelorette Australia S7 – Week 2 Recap

This season of The Bachelorette AU is giving me Survivor vibes with their challenges… Answering Brookie questions and cutting your opponents strings? Straight out of the Survivor playbook. It is savage out there and everyone is quick to jump on the biggest threat (so far), Darvid!

But low and behold, another man stepped up and has possibly become the frontrunner to win. It started with a Love Seat and ended with a kiss. Konrad opened up to Brooke and wasn’t afraid to show his vulnerable side. The dude paints his nails; a day spa is nothing odd for Konrad! I actually love him more than Darvid now. Brooke was completely smitten after their single date, but you can tell she is still lusting for Darvid.

Carissa ended up winning some one-on-one time with Brooke at the group date and man did it go horribly wrong. The whole time Brooke was looking at her uninterested and unsure if Carissa is 100% into her. And then Brooke awkwardly gave her a ‘this is your last chance’ rose, which was followed by an equally awkward kiss!

Fast forward to the cocktail party on Thursday night and wasn’t it juicy AF! The OG bachies watched on as 4 newbies introduced and tried to sweep Brooke off her feet. The biggest impressions came from Millie (<3) and Luca (vom). After Brooke’s reaction to Luca trying to get her attention I am starting to wonder what kind of person she is looking for because he is bleugh. I’m going to blame production for making her talk to him. Ha! Newbie Jessica also made a lesbian joke (not really a joke – look up U-Hauling) and Brooke didn’t mind it at all.

We said goodbye to OTT-she-who-cannot-drive Emily, Bec, our OG lesbian Jess, and Matt. Not surprised with who left and I had a feeling they would give the 4 newbies a chance before sending any home. I guess we’ll see how many of them survive the first week! My guess is Will gets the first boot out of the 4.

Lastly, how HOT did Brooke look in that last cocktail party dress? Vava voom!

My sliding seven this week:

1. HOLLY

27, NSW

Still my #1, the jealous type, has classic one-liners. Holly provided some much welcomed entertainment on Thursday night as the intruders entered the mansion. A little jealousy is fine. I think her biggest threat is the other blonde, Millie. Holly, hang in there!

2. KONRAD

31, VIC

Good with his hands, likes a mani-pedi, SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy). Konrad blew Brooke and all of us away this week on his single date. He has worked his way up my list and comes across as the most genuine guy in the comp. He’s not afraid to be vulnerable and although he has his concerns opening his heart to Brooke, he’s gonna go all in even if he gets his heart broken. We’ll see how things go in the next few weeks and see the spark ignites even more.

3. DARVID

27, QLD

Subtle in his hints, still on Brooke’s mind, the Prince is here to stay. Darvid is still a huge threat to win as all he has to do is be seen by Brooke and she’s overwhelmed with his charming, sexual energy. Sure the others want to knock him down a peg or two, but I highly doubt anything will break the bond he and Brooke have. He just has Konrad, and now Luca (maybe, ew) to contend with. I wouldn’t be surprised at all seeing Darvid at the final rose ceremony!

4. JAMIE-LEE

30, NSW

Freaking the f*ck out, needs to make a move, one-hit wonder? The steamy kiss on episode 1 has fizzled out since, I am becoming growingly worried about Jamie-Lee’s position on Brooke’s love list. I’m giving her one more chance and if we don’t see anything next week I may have to bump her down my Sliding 7, and we are talking Kurt levels :O Brooke’s given her a rose very late in the rose ceremony the last two nights so JL better step it up big time!

5. MILLIE

22, NSW

First impressions last, spring chicken, waiting for that kiss. Watch out ladies, Millie is here! We already know Millie makes a great impression on Brooke as we’ve seen a kiss between them in one of the Bachie promos. Brooke was drawn to Millie at the cocktail party and I have a good feeling we’re gonna get some much wanted content from these two. <3 The only concern I have is how young she is. At 22 does she have enough worldly experience to match Brooke?

6. CARISSA

30, QLD

Holding back the goods, needs more liquid courage, bad kiss timing. Ahh Carissa… what happened?! She has lost all courage and even though she caught Brooke’s attention at the go-kart challenge (wow, folding laundry oohlala), you could see Brooke’s facials were less than impressed. The bichelorette is concerned Carissa’s heart is not all there, and can you even blame her?! Not everyone has the confidence to progress through this kind of dating game. I really like Carissa and would hate to see her go home after a strong start.

7. KURT

29, NSW

Nice guys come last, humourous, knows how to woo a lady. Kurt is slowly becoming one of my faves. At the last cocktail party, when Luca was trying to steal Brooke away, we saw Kurt and Brooke having a jovial chat and they looked super cute. If anything they look like old friends! I can see why Brooke has kept Kurt around; he’s sweet, not intimidating and easy to talk to. I also think he’s way above the likes of Steve and Ryan. Kurt all the way! 🙂

WHO WE NEED MORE OF:

TAJE, 23, NSW – Taje has been on what, one group date?! Things aren’t fairing well for her and she seems to be slipping further under Brooke’s radar. We about to riot!
JESSICA, 28, VIC – We sadly lost our only lesbian Jess this week, but the Bachelorette Goddesses have blessed us with another lesbian Jess, so get on board!! I’m not sure she’s gonna win over Brooke, but i’m here for any content.

WHO NEEDS TO GO:

Ryan – who? Steve – meh. Will – no thanks.
