The Bachelorette Australia S7 – Week 3 Recap

Wowow, this is the week we’ve been all waiting for! From a dramatic exit, to the longest lesbian kiss on TV to couple rumours, The Bachelorette brought the goods!

Wednesday’s episode started off very Luca-centric and his single date left me bored shitless. I’m glad Brooke sees something in him! We then saw him on the boot camp group date much to everyone elses dismay. It was a fun OGs vs Underdogs race, where the OG’s came out on top! Poor Kurt, he struggled speaking up when it came to answering questions about Brooke. Does anyone else get Joe Goldberg vibes (without the killing of course)? He’s been on so many group dates that he knows everything about her. Anyway, Brooke notices Kurt’s attention to detail and picks him for a one-on-one; his first! They have some sweet talks on the couch, until Brooke gets super bored and just wants to make out with him to shut him up. He finally gets the hint and pashing ensues.

The cocktail party is where all the fun begins! Carissa is freaking the f*ck out because she hasn’t had any time to talk with Brooke and is too afraid to go up to her. She finally has to break the devastating news to Brooke that she wants to leave the mansion as she just cannot go through this kind of dating situation any longer. The Bachelor/ette setting isn’t for everyone! Brooke seems way more upset than I anticipated, telling us that they did have a connection, but I don’t feel like it resonated on screen. Since the rainbow painting I feel like their relationship fizzled out. Nonetheless, Brooke was so heartbroken she left the cocktail party and the others to just mingle amongst themselves. Carissa, we’ll miss you <3

Thursday night’s episode began with a bang on top of the Sydney Tower. Cue Jamie-Lee for her first single date (FINALLY!!) with Brooke, Osher and rando Guinness World Record guy! Jamie-Lee and Brooke attempted to break the world record for longest on-screen non-scripted TV kiss, previously held by Sam Wood and not-Snezana on his Bachie season. And phwoar… Needless to say, it was bliss. OK, they totally chose a same-sex kiss as a ratings grab, but who’s complaining?! They even cut to the mansion showing the other participants talking about what kind of date Jamie-Lee was on, but lezbehonest, we were all watching the bottom left corner. In the end they broke the world record by almost a minute. They just kept on going, coz why the heck not?! Unfortunately things turned sour for Jamie-Lee after their magical date…

Steve, the human lie detector rocks up via Zoom, surprising all the participants and you could tell straight away who was genuine and who was genuinely uncomfortable. Precious Kurt opened up about a potential fling between Ryan and Jamie-Lee and all hell broke loose! He then told Jamie-Lee that he mentioned it to Steve and the reaction was priceless. Ryan is grilled by Steve and he struggles with his words. At this point I’m thinking Brooke is going to go absolutely off her head at Ryan, but NO, she takes Jamie-Lee aside and gives her a grilling. What the f*ck was that, producers?! Always the women in the wrong. Kurt was also clear that it was a one-sided relationship by Ryan. Jamie-Lee was in damage control at the cocktail party and I am worried about her place in the comp. Bloody Ryan!! Brooke finished the rose ceremony salty AF and told everyone to get serious or f*ck off!

My Sliding 7:

1. HOLLY

27, NSW

Passed the lie detector with flying colours, Holly is sweet as pie and we need another single date. Holly is staying on top of my list for as long as she stays in the competition and woos Brooke’s heart to the end. We only got to see Holly on the group date, and I’m not sure she did particularly well with the questions, but who cares? I still see Holly as the front-runner out of the women.

2. DARVID

27, QLD

Always subtle and charming, Darvid continues to woo Brooke with his smiles here and there. He honestly doesn’t have to do much to stay inside Brooke’s head! We saw barely anything of him this week, but that doesn’t mean much if you’re a Persian Prince. He could have a shitty edit and still win!

3. JAMIE-LEE

30, NSW

I’ve elevated Jamie-Lee slightly this week because of the undeniable chemistry they have. They truly had one of the best dates this week. The small (massive) hiccup with the Ryan thing will be a real test for the ladies though and I’m hopeful they come out on top… 😐 Please, please, please!!

4. MILLIE

22, NSW

How awesome was Millie’s blue pant suit?! <3 I really like Millie and I have good vibes that she is going to knock Brooke’s pants socks off in weeks to come. Watch this space…

5. KONRAD

31, VIC

That haircut this week was a big no-no. What a fall from grace. Konrad drops heavily down my list after making #2 last week. His even more bleached hair and new cut got me turning my head away and reiterated the fact that the women on this season ARE superior. Still a lovely guy though, he’s definitely one to watch.

6. KURT

29, NSW

Working his way up the ladder this week is what Kurt is all about. Slowly, but surely, he is becoming one of Brooke’s favourites. Sure he’s a dibber dobber, but he’s one of those peeps who can’t lie. If he ruins Jamie-Lee’s chances he’s off the list!

7. TAJE

23, NSW

Sweet Taje! I feel sorry for her because we’ve barely seen her and she’s hardly had any one-on-one time with Brooke. Brooke obviously still wants to get to know her and I have everything crossed we get a single date next week. Just give it to us already!

WHO NEEDS TO GO:

LUCA – If anything, the human lie detector sensed some shadiness.
WILL – Let’s be honest, we’ve already had enough of him.
STEVE – He grew on me after the commando group date, but it’s time to cut him loose. His abs are not enough to win!
